Home Renovation Shows You Must Watch
House Crashers with Josh Temple
House Crashers is a great series to watch as lots of elaborate, high-end home remodeling projects come together.
Josh Temple and his crew hang out at the local home improvement stores and surprise unsuspecting home owners with the deal of a lifetime by offering to do a complete remodel of a single room in their home. It’s great seeing the reactions as people who make a trip to the store to fix a leaky kitchen faucet and win a home renovation!
The great part about this TV show is that every episode is different and no two renovations are the same. Sometimes it’s a bathroom renovation, other times it’s an outrageous man cave or an over the top outdoor patio. Plus you’ll get to watch as Josh’s crew design and build stunning custom furniture and decor such as outdoor patio tables and in-set fire places.

Kitchen Crashers with Alison Victoria
Alison Victoria is the host of Kitchen Crashers, the remodeling TV show that gives away surprise kitchen renovations.
Just like Josh Temple from House Crashers, Alison and her group hang out in the home improvement aisle looking for the next lucky shopper to receive a complete “on-the-house” kitchen renovation. Upgraded with fancy backsplashes and custom appliances, center islands with built-in cook tops and custom bar stools, these remodeled kitchens come with all the bells and whistles.
Alison and the Kitchen Crashers team don’t do all the work, however. They make sure to get the homeowners and their friends involved in the whole process, which is fun to watch. Each renovation gets completed over the weekend, so you’ll see as husbands and wives working together with the build crew throughout the entire project as part of the deal.

First Time Flippers
First Time Flippers is probably one of the most entertaining home renovation shows in this list, which follows the journey of average Joe’s attempting to flip their first home.
The show features the comedic accounts of individuals, usually without sufficient construction experience, tackling major home repairs and renovations. As an experienced builder, you can’t help but cringe (and laugh) at some of the things these inexperienced people do while trying to renovate these homes. Such as when they knock out a wall without knowing if it’s load bearing, or cutting through walls with a sawzall and severing electrical wires inside them.
The inexperienced stars of each episode often end up seeking professional to get the job done and each episode really makes you wonder whether the house flipping duo will make a profit or break the bank. First Time Flippers has plenty of moments to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Holmes on Homes with Mike Holmes
Holmes on Homes is a great show that lets you watch as Mike Holmes and his “Built it Right” construction crew fix work done by lousy contractors or extensive damage done by the elements.
Mike Holmes takes pride in fixing homes that need serious work such as repairing water damage and mold from incorrectly installed siding, to flooded basements from faulty or failing outdoor drainage systems. Every episode features Mike and his crew taking a home in despair and bringing it back to life.
You’ll take great pleasure in watching him pick apart the damage done by shady contractors. One thing is for sure, and that’s if Mike is on the job, it’s going to get done right.

This Old House
This Old House is a classic and airs on PBS, unlike the other shows mentioned in this article, which air on either DIY Network or HGTV. It is one of America’s first home renovation shows.
This Old House focuses on restoring historic homes and each season follows the renovation of 2 separate houses from start to finish. You’ll get a first hand look at the craftsmanship that goes into each project and lots of great DIY tips and advice along the way.
